Tomatoes and squash do well in our garden. Keep in mind, though, for squash/melons you need a bit of room, as they are vining plants.

Tomatoes are my favorite to grow because I love them so much. I'd say the easiest is leaf lettuce and radishes. I'm sure it depends on your climate.

Tomatoes are very easy to grow for sure. Also basil is very nice and easy to take care of! I'm getting more and more into organic food anyways so I try to grow also lentils and potatoes and lot's more. I would love to be able to get as much vegetables out of my harvest so I don't need to buy them from the store.

o, it's funny that all of you are saying tomatoes are easy to grow might be that our climate here is not the right one for them but I'm trying to grow tomatoes for some time now but I can't really harvest a lot of them. Lettuce and squash are growing very well indeed. I'm aiming for an organic lifestyle for my family. We are pretty down to earth and try do lead a healthy and organic life. For some parts it is hard especially when it comes to technology what I for example need for work. For nutrition and clothing we are on a pretty good path though. We grow vegetables in our garden and go to the farmers market once a week. Also I did breast feed my older one but had problems of breast feeding my younger one for some health reasons so we took it very seriously to find an organic formula to add to the milk supply. We decided on feeding the German Hipp formula ( myorganicformula.com/collections/hipp-organic-formula) to our baby girl when she didn't get enough breast milk and she too is a healthy toddler right now. The next thing we are on is that we want to change to use solar energy or at least we want to start using it and slowly changing to nearly exclusively using solar power. I'm very excited about all these changes but they are worth it for our children's future! Sophia

I agree with you, tomatoes grow easily on the balcony as well. I dream of having my own little vegetable garden. I want to grow more fruits. I've already seen solar panels that can be attached to the balcony, and it's very cool.
